Illustrative Card Deck to promote the outdoor sector in Durango, Colorado. This Deck features original artwork of native animals imposed with popular outdoor recreational activities in Durango.

Face Card Design
The Design of the Face Cards are a play off of the traditional "double ended court card" or mirrored face card, instead featuring one of the many native animals in the Durango Area with recreational gear instead of weapons.
Jacks feature a Black Bear ready for a rafting trip, Queens feature a Red Tailed Hawk geared up to ice climb, & Kings feature a Big Horn Sheep in the middle of a long hike.
Packaging Design
The packaging of this card deck is intended to be soft & friendly, fitting the Visit Durango Brand and their audience of tourists and locals that often visit as families. The packaging features the activities of each animal, and a motif of two of Durango's most iconic silhouettes, Perins Peak & Animas City Mountain. The card backing design mimics the packaging, following the same color palette, and using Visit Durango's common icons to further fit with the Visit Durango brand identity.
Flip Book Animation
Included on the corners of the number cards are two short, silly 36 frame flip book
animations as an Easter Egg, where the correct order of suits can be deciphered from
the packaging art, assuming the deck is arranged numerically from Two to Ten
Social Media Animation Mockup
3D animation created to showcase the playing card design to be posted on social media platforms. This was animated in Blender, then treated in After Effects to lower framerate, apply distinct background texture, and faux lens effects to sell a comical realism, as if to imply stop motion.
